Jen's favorites.....

Favorite Snack: Popcorn or pretzels

Favorite Drink: Diet coke

Favorite Paper: I LOVE patterned paper but my favourite would definitely be Basic Grey

Favorite Technique: My favourite technique would be inking and or stamping.

Favorite Embellishment: If I could only chose one type of embellishment to use on a page it would be chipboard. I also love ribbons, flowers and buttons.

Favorite Scrap Tool: My Cuttlebug machine!

Favorite Adhesive: I use Scotch Quick Tack glue on everything. It sticks very well and dries relatively clear.

TEXT Thursday - December 20

Today's post is all about TRADITIONS!! Christmas traditions!!

Here are some examples of traditions that people might take part in over Christmas:

~ Unwrapping ONE gift on Christmas Eve
~ Giving a gift once a day for the 12 Days of Christmas
~ Putting up your tree on Christmas Eve
~ Using only a certain colored light/decoration on your tree
~ Hanging stocking in your childrens' rooms instead of on the fireplace
~ Making Christmas Cookies
~ Eating Christmas dinner at a certain time on Christmas Day
~ Opening all your gifts on Christmas Eve

These are just a few that came to mind! On my BLOG I posted a entry about a Christmas tradition at our home!

Post a comment and tell us about your traditions! Or...even better...create a blog posting and link us to it here!

We can't wait to here all about your traditions!

WEB Wednesday - Dec 19th

Thanks, Jen, for sharing some of your favorite websites with us today!

"I have a passion for card making so I spend a lot of time looking at card making blogs on the internet.

The one very cool blog that I recently discovered lately is SheetLOADof cards. Each month there is a newsletter with all the "recipes" on how to make a whole pile of cards. The newsletter also includes some examples. What a great wayto whip up a large batch of cards and the best part is that all the cutting directions and directions are included! I have been asked to do some of the sample cards in the New Year so keep an eye out for me there!

The other card making blog I really enjoy is Caardvarks. Every week they have a new challenge and you can win wonderful prizes. The Design Team provides beautiful examples for each of the challenges.

Finally, the last of my favourite card making blogs is Card Positioning systems. Each week there is a sketch and then a number of examples that were made by the Design Team. So much wonderful eye candy here!"

TEACHING Tuesday-December 18

Susan has a tutorial at her blog showing how tomake your own PRINTED RIBBON!

Have you ever wanted a ribbon that said a certain thing, but just could not find a piece in your stash to use?Or, maybe, you have a certain color of ribbon and though, "Now, if only that ribbon had ______ written on it".
Well, now you can have any color of ribbon, any size - say whatever you want, by making it yourself!!
How do I do this????? (you ask....)
Here's how!!!...

I posted a tutorial on making a mini-paper bag album.

Today I have a mini-paper bag album for you! These bags are approx 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.I used 4 bags. You can use less. I wouldn't recommend more as it will get too bulky.
Fold the bags in half. Then stack them together...

Carla has been making a 6x6 ABC Christmas album at Scrapbook Heaven. She's been posting a letter a day. She's at "S" today.

SISTER Sunday - December 16th

Please WELCOME our sister for this week - Jen R!

Tell us about your family: I’ve been married to my perfect match for just over two years. We don’t have any children yet. I work full time in the pharmaceutical industry.

How/Why did you start scrapbooking? My mom took me to a course at a LSS as a birthday gift and I’ve been addicted ever since.

How long have you been scrapbooking? I’ve been scrapbooking in some form or another since I was in high school. I remember putting all my ticket stubs and photos into albums. In 2002 my mom took me to a course at a LSS and that’s when I got serious about it.

What is it about scrapbooking that you really love? Other than shopping for supplies, I just enjoy the creative outlet that scrapbooking provides.

How many hours a week do you scrapbook? Because I work full time I don’t get a lot of time (or at least as much as I like) to scrapbook. I typically scrapbook in the evenings a few times a week and on weekends. I’d say on average I scrapbook about 5 hours a week.

How long does it take you to complete a layout? I think am a pretty SLOW scrapper. I usually spend a few hours on each layout. I like to lay everything out on my page and let it sit for a bit before gluing it down.

Where do you get your inspiration? I get most of my inspiration on line from web sites, blogs and message boards. I like using sketches to design my layout.

We started this blog in the Spring of this year and one of our first featured sketch artists was Nicole White. Well, how fitting that we are ending the year with a sketch from Nicole, too! A wonderful sketch ,don't you think! Please leave a comment if you use this sketch.

Thanks, Nicole!!

Remember, if you'd like to have your name entered for a RAK from me, complete a card or layout using one of the sketches that have been featured here in 2007. Leave us a comment so we know where to see your creation.

If you'd like your name in there again, choose another sketch and post in the comments where we can find it. There will be no more sketches posted this year, so the rest of December can be "catch-up" time for you! Enjoy!

You can find ALL of the sketches HERE

TEXT Thursday - Dec 13

Most people are finding that this time of year is so BUSY and things don't really start to slow down until Christmas morning! LOL! There are Christmas concerts, banquets, shopping, mailing packages, and the list goes on!

Why not take a few moments for yourself today and write about how you feel right now! What does the "busyness" do to you? Maybe you thrive on it. Others are stressed terribly. Perhaps writing things down will help you see how you can change things to make it less stressful, or just make it so you can cope with it better.

If you blog about it, let us know so we can drop by for a visit :-)

PS. Speaking of journaling, here's a new journaling challenge blog - Journaling Junkie. One of our "sisters" is on the design team there (Hi Beverly!) and Nicole, owner of Scrapbooker's Clubhouse (our sponsor this month) is also on the design team. Go check it out, ladies!

WEB Wednesday-Dec 12th

I've been making Christmas gifts since December 1st! Usually around this time of the year I crave making "altered projects"!!!

I've been checking out THIS blog daily, by Melissa Goodsell. She's been posting a craft idea since some time in November.
I've been posting a gift idea on my blog since the beginning of December, as well. It's been fun creating all the new projects.
Forum galleries are awesome places, as well, to check out for gift ideas!

If you know of a great place to find Christmas craft and gift ideas. let us know!
OR pull out some of your supplies, create a Christmas project and post it on your blog or in your gallery and post the link for us to see it!

SISTER Sunday - December 9th

This week our sister is Marcee Rodgers.
Tell us about your family: I have two amazing children; Keelin age 6 and Raice age 3.5. I have been married to my wonderful husband Chris for almost 8 years. We also have a goat (really it’s a dog that eats EVERYTHING!) named Gus who is 10 months old. I am extremely blessed to be able to stay home with my kids everyday. My daughter also has a passion for scrapbooking which we try to share in the evenings by using a sketch or other form of inspiration.
How/Why did you start scrapbooking? Honestly, I don’t remember. My mom is the one who inspired me though. She has been doing it for years and is AMAZING!

How long have you been scrapbooking? Since April of 2007

What is it about scrapbooking that you really love? The ability to create

How many hours a week do you scrapbook? Approx 5-sometimes more if I’m involved in an online crop

How long does it take you to complete a layout? It depends on how much creative flow I have at the moment. Sometimes it can be 1 hour and sometimes it may take days.

Where do you get your inspiration? Forum challenges, magazines and books

Describe your scrap space. Do you like/dislike it? I don’t technically have one. I just use the dining room table. All of my supplies are either in a closet downstairs or in cupboards. I’m just appreciative to have space to spread out and get messy.

What are your favourite colours to scrapbook with? Anything that isn’t bright or pastel-I have a really hard time with those.
